As the opening event of Veszprém’s season marking the 200th anniversary of the birth of photography, this exhibition presents a distinctive selection of black-and-white works by Kiss-Kuntler Árpád, recipient of the Photojournalism Lifetime Achievement Award in 2026. The exhibition offers an intimate visual statement: a dialogue of images and reflections that evokes the inspirations, impressions and moods underlying the artist’s oeuvre. Over the years, these experiences have evolved into a lasting intellectual legacy, shaping the photographer’s unique vision and means of expression. The “hommage”-themed series pays tribute to great predecessors and outstanding contemporaries. The figures evoked within the works include artists (Claude Monet, Henri Rousseau, Le Corbusier), writers (Béla Hamvas, László Krasznahorkai, Grimm, Asimov), and scientists (David Attenborough, Carlo Rovelli, Stephen Hawking), all of whom have profoundly influenced the artist’s thinking.
