The Veszprém Zoo awaits both young and old all-year-round for an adventure across six continents. You can travel through exotic jungles across the savannah and the Arctic, as well as back in time to the prehistoric world of the dinosaurs The wildlife park in the picturesque Fejes Valley and on Gulya Hill has been home to hundreds of animals for more than 60 years, and this large zoological family has grown over the years too. Nowadays, you can come across well-loved animal species, such as Cape penguins, harbour seals, white rhinoceros and gelada baboons at the Veszprém Zoo, but everyone’s favourites - Asian elephants, lions and black bears - also live at Veszprém.
The Veszprém Zoo is more than just a place to see the animals. It is constantly expanding the range of interactive and adventure activities on offer, such as the African Savannah playground, where you can enjoy adventures on cableways, climbing frames, bouncy castles and even climb onto a real zebra-striped safari plane. In addition to playing, children can also gain useful knowledge at Veszprém Zoo. As well as learning more about animals from various continents, the Zoopedagógia educational sessions also provide children with useful environmental and animal conservation skills. But, you don’t only discover curiosities from the present day: the Dinosaur Park at Veszprém Zoo also gives you the chance to meet lifelike models of dinosaurs that lived a millions of years ago. Kids can even take part in a real archaeological excavation, where they are guaranteed a discovery experience.
