The opening exhibition in Veszprém, marking the 200th anniversary of the invention of photography, presents an unusual selection of black-and-white photographs by Árpád Kiss-Kuntler, who was awarded the Photojournalist’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2026.
The exhibition at Dubniczay Palace is an intimate reflection in which visual language and written thoughts convey the impressions and moods that have inspired the artist's life and work. Gathered over the years, these experiences have become a lasting intellectual legacy, freely shaping the photographer's artistic expression.
The exhibition also features a series of photographic homages paying tribute to both great predecessors and distinguished contemporaries. The works honour artists such as Claude Monet, Henri Rousseau and Le Corbusier; writers including Béla Hamvas, László Krasznahorkai, the Brothers Grimm and Isaac Asimov; and scientists such as Sir David Attenborough, Carlo Rovelli and Stephen Hawking—all figures whom the photographer regards as enduring sources of inspiration.
