This year, the Archdiocese of Veszprém celebrates one of the most significant events in its history: the beatification of Mária Magdolna Bódi. In connection with this, a special exhibition titled “Thistle and Lily – The Flowers of Magdalene” has opened in the frescoed halls of the Biró–Giczey House, in the heart of the castle district.
The exhibition presents selected treasures from the Archbishop’s Collection and explores the mystery of being a “Magdalene” through artefacts that reflect key moments in the life of Mary Magdalene.
This is more than an art historical experience – it is also a spiritual pilgrimage: an invitation to draw closer to the virtues of conversion, faithfulness, and self-sacrifice. The carefully selected artworks, paintings, and sculptures help visitors reflect on what it means to live as a Magdalene today.
