Toroczkai Csaba: Lights of the region photo exhibition
The event is over!

Csaba Toroczkai has been roaming the Balaton highlands for years. He calls his trips simply "wanderings" during which he took photos of the region's known and less-explored areas. The common point of the recordings is the exploration of the relationship between light and the natural environment.

Travel around Lake Balaton. 123 years have passed since Károly Eötvös wrote his first book of short stories. Since then, following this popular fiction, many people have expressed their travel experiences related to the countryside with diary entries, poems, musical works or photographs. For three years Csaba Toroczkai photographed the landscapes of Lake Balaton, Bakony and the Balaton Highlands. He called his trips "wanderings". The common point of his photographs is the exploration of the relationship between light and the natural environment.

"Nature is generous and wonderful. It always gives more than I can imagine. It's up to me whether I am able to notice it. For me, there is no such thing as good time or bad time. I don't stick to what I have planned, I try to become one with the landscape, with an open heart, receptive, and I always wonder how lucky I am."

The rich natural heritage of the three regions was first on display in the Liszt Institute's Tokyo Exhibition Hall in spring 2023. The complete exhibition was presented in July 2023 at the Dubniczay Palace of the House of Arts Veszprém. Csaba Toroczkai, Escher Károly Prize-winner photo journalist, photo editor and contributor to well-known Hungarian journals and magazines has been working in the field of photography for more than three decades. His professional activity has been recognised with numerous awards.
