The house at 1 Thököly Imre Street is where world-renowned violinist, conductor, composer and music educator Leopold Auer spent his childhood. During this time, he studied under the first violinist of the Veszprém Cathedral and it was from here that he set off on his path to international fame. His name is well known not only across Europe but also in the United States.

Today, this nationally protected historic building hosts three residential units that provide accommodation for invited artists and exhibitors visiting the city. The building also houses an instrument maker's workshop and a showroom, open to visitors.

In the open workshop of violin maker Elemér Sümegi, guests can gain insight into the repair and making of string instruments, evoking the atmosphere of traditional Italian workshops that open onto the street.
