Cuha Valley Adventure Forest, some 30 km from Veszprém, is the perfect choice for the whole family on a sunny day.

The Bakonyerdő Zrt. forestry company has developed the adventure forest and educational trail, in appreciation of the harmony between the landscape and the manmade environment. This is perhaps one of the best-loved day trips in the Magas-Bakony: a real treasure in the region. The captivating, informative tour along the educational trail leads hikers past information boards carved from wood or presented in bright colours. These boards explain the living world around us, as well as interesting facts about the geography, soil and railway history. At the end of the trail, there is an open-air classroom, which is also a great place for a picnic.

The water of the Kőpince spring is always 7 degrees Celsius whatever the season, perfect for quenching the thirst of passing wanderers. There are places where you can take a break and light a campfire, which can be a fun way to relax.

Hikers will come across the newly refurbished Pakucs rest area at the confluence of the Cuha and Hódos-ér streams; walking north, they will find the ruggedly romantic Lower Cuha Gorge and alongside it, the Ördögrét (Devil’s Meadow), where there are benches and tables in the shade of centuries-old trees. The names of the numerous caves in the area recall the wild world of Hungarian outlaws: Savanyú Jóska Cave, Outlaws’ Cave, Rogues’ Cave, Hermit’s Cave.

The Likas Stone, between Vinye and Fenyőfő, and the Pápalátó Stone are popular destinations for visitors.

The Szent László Adventure Park is located in Vinye, in one of the most picturesque parts of the Öreg-Bakony, at the entrance to the Cuha Valley. This valley is almost four kilometres long and criss-crossed with gullies. It is extremely popular, partly because of the exceptional landscape and partly because it is so easy to get to and is also suitable for families. This three-hectare park has plenty for everyone, both young and old, with adventure courses for beginners, young children, teenagers and adults, as well as slides.
