There are few rock formations in Hungary as picturesque as the Séd Valley in Veszprém. The stream has carved a 60 to 80-metre deep valley into the dolomite plateau. While cycling in the Séd Valley, you can not only enjoy the wild beauty of Veszprém’s landscape, but also take a trip back in time and discover the memories of the city’s thousand-year history. The Séd Valley is one of Veszprém’s real gems, offering numerous leisure activities. The Séd Stream, which winds its way through the city’s majestic hills, is accompanied by more than 3 km of walking and cycle paths past the Monasteries and Gardens. More and more people are indulging in their new passion - Nordic walking. Many people are tempted by the valley for rock climbing, while others prefer to jump on a bike or go rollerblading.
The Veszprém Valley consists of several distinct parts linked by a footpath that is perfect for both walking and cycling. Heading from east to west, starting at the Buhim Valley, the Séd Stream then bypasses the Castle District and the steep Benedek Cliff before turning to the left, passing under the viaduct, one of the symbols of Veszprém, and continuing along the Betekints Valley.
