Fenyves Mill

Interactive exhibition on the history of mills, at Veszprém’s only intact watermill.

Visitors to the mill can get detailed insight into its operation and the hard work milling demands. They can discover the entire milling process, from the grain to the finished flour. The interactive nature of the mill history exhibition means that visitors can touch and try out the tools on display. Several hand mills have been put on display, so visitors can experience the difficulties of milling wheat for themselves and then take the fruits of their labour home in a little flour bag. At the entrance, visitors are given a small map to help them familiarise themselves with the old tools while also having fun. Children can sift the flour, weigh themselves on the scale, sharpen the millstone and watch how a waterwheel is assembled.

Langallo / bread can be baked in the renovated kitchen or in the courtyard oven for larger events.

There is also a kids corner to keep younger children entertained (e.g. by playing at mill deliveries or with wooden toys, village games or a play kitchen). There is also a book rescue shelf, where you can leave unwanted books or find something you might like to read.

The mill can be visited at any time, by prior arrangement, with a puppy as well.
