Located at 17 Vár Street, the FOTON Audiovisual Centre is a multifunctional hub for art and culture. The building includes a 63-seat auditorium, a café, an exhibition space, and a hanging garden. These areas regularly host concerts, talks, screenings, workshops, book launches and other community events.
In the basement of FOTON, visitors can explore the FiXir media lab — the digital creative workshop of the House of Arts. Two project rooms and a ground-floor event and exhibition space present innovative programmes focused on digital content.
FOTON is also home to an art cinema, making it a key venue of the Hungarian Motion Picture Festival for film enthusiasts.
The FOTON Centre includes the Simoga Courtyard, where guests can enjoy speciality coffees at a pet-friendly café. In the evenings, the café transforms into a bar.
In the Fire Tower Courtyard, audience seating has been created using landscaped steps, accommodating up to 60 people. The open-air stage hosts film screenings, concerts, chamber theatre performances, and post-show meet-and-greet events. Visitors can enjoy theatre productions and musical evenings on the mobile stage set up in the courtyard.
Visual art and photography exhibitions can also be arranged on the walls of the café and the foyer of the building.
