Modern Art Gallery – László Vass Collection:
Upon entering through the Castle Gate, you’ll come upon a small, secluded space that leads to the exhibition hall—the Modern Art Gallery – László Vass Collection—created by connecting three buildings. Visitors can admire the unique, curated selection from art collector László Vass’s internationally renowned private contemporary collection across nine galleries, while the Modern Art Gallery also welcomes visitors with temporary exhibitions.

If you go through the arched gate at the beginning of Vár utca (Castle Street) you can find Csikász Gallery to the left. This Gallery awaits visitors with a variety of contemporary fine arts exhibitions all over the year.

The palace on Trinity Square, one of the most beautiful Baroque buildings in the castle district, was built by Canon István Dubniczay in the 18th century. It has been rebuilt several times throughout its history, and during excavations, traces of a stable, a castle wall, a cannon bastion, and a casemate were discovered; the meticulously crafted decorative paintings, found in good condition, were restored. The palace currently houses five exhibition spaces: in the palace wing, visitors will find the D1, D2, and Baroque Halls; the Castle Gallery; and the Granary’s temporary exhibition; while the Tegularium awaits visitors as they approach from the courtyard.
