A boat trip beneath an atmospheric small town. Sharing scientific knowledge. “The Wonders of Karst” exhibition and climbing wall.
The Tapolca Lake Cave is located 50 kilometres from Veszprém in the embrace of volcanic buttes. You can enjoy an outstanding exhibition on the wonders of the world of karst in the cave’s reception area before going boating on the lake. Ten rooms with special attractions guide visitors through the mysterious world of caves. Children can prove their mettle in the crawling cave, while adults can put their senses to the test by identifying stones. Paleogeographical paintings offer a glimpse into the living worlds of bygone eras. With the help of large-scale photos and film, you can follow the path taken by underground explorers. Karst waters form exotic natural works of art out of limestone. Moving through the karst towers of southern China and the realm of stalactites and stalagmites, you then come to the fragile, crystalline beauty of the Tapolca Lake Cave. Lava and ice cave, ancient karst from the tropics: all this awaits visitors.
