Bakony Expo, the Bakony Flavours Fair, began a few years ago and quickly became one of Veszprém’s most popular events. Bakony Expo takes place every November in the Veszprém Arena and the park in front of it.
Local producers and artisans can present their produce to visitors interested in quality, healthy produce and goods. There are cheeses, honey, pastes, meat products, jams, cordials and even ceramics and woodwork on offer. What they all have in common is that they have brought decades of experience in Hungarian gardens and workshops with them to Bakony Expo.
Bakony Expo is not just a farmers’ market. Every year, the organisers ensure that visitors are kept entertained with interactive and educational presentations and programmes. There are cookery demonstrations with tastings every year, and children can be kept entertained in a folk playhouse and petting zoo while their parents choose from a range of great products.
What is distinctive about Bakony Expo us that each year the programmes are built upon a specific theme, based on a popular crop. So sweetcorn, mushrooms, lentils and Hungarian fish have found themselves in the spotlight. These and many other delicacies and interesting things can be found at Bakony Expo in Veszprém every November.
