The Veszprém Street Music Festival is one of the oldest and still one of the most popular musical events in the City of Queens which takes place every July.
A regular feature in summer is the few days when street musicians from both Hungary and abroad fill the city centre, playing on small or even makeshift stages. This is the festival that brings Veszprém to life most. At any moment, as you walk through the city centre, turning any corner or crossing, you may come across an artist who will enchant you with their music or some out-of-the-ordinary performance. Many foreign street musicians have also participated in the Veszprém festival in recent years, so anyone visiting Veszprém in July during Utcazene will be treated to an unforgettable mélange of world music. What’s more, in line with recent trends, festival-goers can also explore numerous food trucks, where they also can discover the cuisine of far-flung regions alongside the music.
