BABEL - the opening attraction of CODE
The multi-part production BABEL is the result of a unique collaboration between a group of Hungarian digital artists and sound designers. The series was inspired by Jorge Luis Borges' short story "The Library of Babel" and was created specifically for the Hexagon's six-sided space.
Borges's work presents an infinite library of hexagonal rooms, symbolising the limitlessness of human knowledge and possibilities. The library contains every possible book, including the sum total of human knowledge and the truths yet to be discovered. The library is a place of hope, a triumph of human creativity and curiosity among infinite possibilities, which never ceases to satisfy the desire for knowledge.
