Festival of Dance is an annual event of Veszprém’s independent theatre, PANNON VÁRSZÍNHÁZ. For 24 years now, it has been a competitive meeting point for contemporary dance – a first-rate festival for Veszprém city.
From the beginning, it has attracted the related arts, thus emphasising the interconnectedness and shared responsibilities of art branches. It broadens theatre spaces: streets, buildings, and civilian communities accommodate, perform and live out its productions. THE ECOC VESZPRÉM-BALATON 2023 project now provides outstanding opportunities to build international links and ties. Our aim between 2020 and 2023 is to attract top European troupes and become their long-term home; we would like children as well as the young and the elderly to get a grasp of their future, present, and past speaking the language of contemporary arts, and also formulate their answers in that international language.
