At the dawn of the twentieth century, oil brought fabulous wealth to the members of the Osage tribe, who became almost overnight real crores. The money of the natives immediately attracted the attention of the profiteering settlers, who initially tried to fleece them by deception, extortion and theft, and then resorted to murder. Based on true events, Killers of the Flower Moon is a sprawling Wild West crime epic, told through a strange love affair: true passion is intertwined with the darkest betrayal in the relationship between Ernest Buckhart (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Mollie Kyle (Lily Gladstone).
The film also stars Robert De Niro and Jesse Plemons and is directed by Academy Award®-winner Martin Scorsese. The screenplay was written by Eric Roth and Scorsese from the best-selling book by David Grann.
