In a peaceful Japanese suburb, on the shores of a large lake, people live a quiet life. A single mother who loves her son, a teacher who cares for her students, and innocent children. When her little boy, Minato starts acting strangely, his mother senses something is wrong. She suspects that a teacher may be responsible, so she goes to the school to find out what happened. The story unfolds from the mother's, the teacher's and the child's points of view, and gradually the truth comes to the surface, attracting the press' attention as well. One stormy morning, the children suddenly disappear...
