Agóra Veszprém is the largest public cultural institution in the city. It plays a key role in providing cultural programmes and promoting public education in Veszprém and its surroundings. The building underwent a major renovation in 2015, transforming it into a beautiful, modern, multifunctional cultural centre. Today, it welcomes visitors with experience-rich, educational and entertaining spaces in a contemporary setting.
The Agóra houses a modern, air-conditioned theatre with a capacity of 290 seats. The entire building is fully accessible, ensuring that people with reduced mobility and older visitors can comfortably attend the activities and performances. A lift is available for guests in this multi-storey facility.
The institution offers ample space for civil initiatives, supports the work of community groups, and organises activities tailored to people of all ages and interests. Its refurbished rooms are ideally suited for hosting around 30 different exhibitions annually, including visual arts, applied arts, folk art, and photography.
Agóra places special emphasis on promoting Hungarian folk music and showcasing the musical heritage of various regions. Each year, it hosts several prestigious folk events, often accompanied by traditional dance houses. During the summer, a wide range of open-air events are organised for the enjoyment of both residents and visitors to the city.
