The performance Stephen, the King presents a defining chapter of Hungarian history. After the death of Prince Géza, his son Stephen is to inherit power. Yet his uncle Koppány, invoking tradition, also claims the throne and gathers great support. Stephen may consolidate his position, but the bloody clash cannot be avoided. Soar, free bird; Whom would you choose; Our sun has risen; You are so far from me – and many other unforgettable songs spanning generations can be heard.
