Benedict Hill
8200 Veszprém, Benedek-hegy

On the Northern side of the Castle narrow paved stairs lead down to the Benedict Hill which used to be the burial place of our ancestors.

St Bendict Hill is the northern part of the Veszprém Castle Hill. With the leadership of Dezső Lackó a crypt from the 17th century was discovered. According to rumours Ferenc Semptsey, the vice-captain of Nagyvázsony was buried here. On the site of the crypt we can see the stone cross of the former Veszprém Calvary.

Visiting the cross, a marvellous panorama opens to the city, the Bakony, the meandering Séd brook, the Viaduct and the beautiful park of the Veszprém Valley.
