Description

Schedule: from spring until autumn the train usually runs everyday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from the Old Town Square at full time, and every half hour from the Fejesvölgyi Zoo stop. We look forward to seeing you all!

Ernő, the Guard - Mini Sculptures of Veszprém

Guerrilla sculptor Mihály Kolodko created three mini-sculptures for Veszprém. The miniature artworks can be found in touristically frequented locations in Veszprém. The mini-statues can be explored individually using the free map available at the Tourinform Veszprém office.

Old Town Square / Rákóczi Street

The octagonal Óváros Square is the heart of the city. Formerly used as a market square, it is now the venue for some of the city’s most popular festivals.

Pantheon of Veszprém

On the wall of the Castle, under the Fire Lookout Tower every year in August a memoir-board is placed to remember the significant people of Veszprém. The Pantheon can be found in the garden of the Fire Lookout Tower.

Historia Garden

About 1 kilometre from the centre of Veszprém, in a picturesque setting at the eastern foot of the castle hill lies one of the most beautiful and exciting places to explore: the Historia Garden.

Kutas Square

This square is situated at the foot of the Veszprém Castle, by the Séd stream. It was renovated in 2011 and the fountain is also a drinking-fountain as well. If you are thirsty, have a sip of the cool Veszprém water!

Love Island

The place was named Szerelem-sziget (Love Island) by the people of Veszprém for good reason. The shady path crossed by small bridges at the bottom of the eastern side of the castle, next to the Séd Stream, is the perfect place for a first, second or even thousandth date.

Margaret Ruins

Looking down from Benedict Hill you can catch sight of the Margaret ruins in the valley.

Water Supply Museum

The Water Supply Museum and Exhibition Room commemorate not just to the drinking water supply of Veszprém, but it insights into the beauty and details of the water work with thematic exhibition.

Saint Stephan Viaduct

The viaduct, which can be found in the Fejes Valley, is one of Veszprém’s well-known symbols. It overspans the waggly Séd stream in the height of 50 m.

Rovaniemi Stairs

The Rovaniemi Stairs are situated in the area of the Cloisters and Gardens. Its start is next to the Hungarian Folk Tales playground and it leads all the way up to Gulya Hill. The stairs are rather steep; however, the wooded environment gives the climb an adventurous and unique vibe, providing every age group with an amazing experience.
