Chaconne Festival / Forte Ensemble and DADOR Project: Concordia (dance performance)
The event is over!

The dance performance, accompanied by a live orchestra and a singer, unfolds 12 love stories of classic couples of the world literature in 12 musical pieces.

Concordia by Forte Company and Dador Project Orchestra is a choreography based on works by classical composers from the Baroque period, such as Francesco Cavalli, Tarquinio Merula, Claudio Monteverdi and Giovanni Battista Fontana. Accompanied by a live orchestra and a singer, the dance piece unfolds 12 love stories in 12 pieces of music telling the tales of the great couples of the world literature. The passionate dialogues of Romeo and Juliet, Csongor and Tünde, Orpheus and Eurydice are presented on stage in an organic union of dance, live music and prose. Concordia, or the harmony of hearts, is performed in love stories of agreement and discord, seduction and amorous madness, strung together on repetitive bass melodies. Whether it's a strophic song, a rondo-like chorus or a repetitive bass line, the common musical, verbal and movement language is repetition itself. The alternating vocal and instrumental pieces in the performance structure, as well as the dance, lead the viewer fluidly from darkness to light.

The production revolves around the most beautiful lamentos of Italian contemporary baroque, which can be translated into Hungarian as a lament. The essence of the lamento bass lies in the hypnotic repetition of the same notes, and this stubborn return is a spiralling musical and choreographic stage picture of lingering in pain or even joy.
