The Hangvilla Multifunctional Community Space is situated in the heart of Veszprém and is easily accessible on foot and by public transport and car. The imposing 21st century building was inaugurated in 2013 and has become a centre for culture and quality entertainment not only in Veszprém but also for the whole region. The building was constructed on the site of the former Séd cinema, where the Hangvilla was created by renovating the socialist realism style centre and expanding its cultural services.
The centre’s multifunctional nature means that it offers a range of services, mainly cultural. It is also home to the Pannon Castle Theatre, which stages theatre performances each week in the 500-seat auditorium. In addition, there are regular classical music or acoustic concerts, dance performances and plays, while many of the most popular Hungarian comedians also perform at Hangvilla.
The building is also suitable for conferences, workshops and receptions, both large and small. The three-storey communal space also features temporary exhibitions showcasing cultural diversity, while the ground floor houses a café and restaurant. More light-hearted entertainment can be found in the Expresszó club on the lower floor of the Hangvilla, where popular Hungarian pop bands also perform every week.
